SSEM Rebuild Project 1948 -1998

The 21st June 1948 saw the first successful execution of a program by a stored program computer on the
Small Scale Experimental Machine (SSEM), built at Manchester University. To commemorate this historic achievement the Computer Conservation Society (CCS) has initiated a project, to build a replica of the machine. The goal is to complete this in time for the fiftieth anniversary celebrations in 1998, and re-run
the very first program on the 21st June 1998.
