1.0 Product Overview
_____________________

Netfinity Web Server Accelerator is a standard caching reverse proxy
web server accelerator that may increase the performance of
Netfinity servers by servicing static web page requests. Netfinity
Web Server Accelerator was designed not only for maximum performance,
but for administration and installation ease by providing an interface
that is fully integrated with Microsoft Management Console. Netfinity
Web Server Accelerator will work with any existing web server
software, and it is scaleable for 1, 2, or 4 processors.

2.0 Minimum System Requirements
_______________________________

  A. A Netfinity Server model 3000, 3500, 5000, 5500, 5500 Pro, 7000,
      7000 M10
  B. Windows NT 4.0 SP3 (service pack 3)
  C. Internet Explorer 4.0 (Netfinity Web Server accelerator uses the
Microsoft Management Console (MMC) as part of the user
      interface. MMC requires IE 4.0)
  D. 64MB of memory
  E. 10MB of hard disk space
  F. A working web server software package. Netfinity Web Server
Accelerator is only supported when used in conjunction with
Internet Information Server, Apache, and Netscape Fastrac.

3.0 Quick Install/Setup
________________________

  A. Download the file, NWSA.exe, from
      http://www.pc.ibm.com/us/solutions/netfinity/
      server_accelerator.html.
  B. Execute this file by choosing RUN from the Window's Startup
menu. Enter in the path and file name of the downloaded file
(e.g. c:\download\NWSA.exe), and then click on OK. This will
cause Netfinity Web Server Accelerator to self-extract about ten
      files into that directory.
  C. Setup.exe will automatically launch when extraction is complete.
  D. Launch "Netfinity Web Server Accelerator" from the Windows Start
      menu.
  E. After MMC loads, click on the Action menu button, and select
CONNECT. This should add "Web Accelerator" under your machine
      name in the scope panel.
  F. Right mouse clicking on "Web Accelerator" in the scope pane
will open a popup menu. Select properties from here. Customize
your web accelerator (port numbers, directories to cache,
and logging) using the options provided.
  G. After closing the properties dialog, right click on "Web
Accelerator" again, and choose start. Netfinity Web Server
      Accelerator is now running.
