(Refer to your device's manual for information to perform a soft reset). -- Run the Mobility Client for Palm OS.exe install image on your desktop and follow the install instructions. -- Synchronize your device with your desktop with HotSync. -- When you launch the Mobility Client for Palm OS from your device, you will be notified that an upgrade has been detected. Create a new account by tapping Preferences->Account->New to re-configure your account. Do not create a duplicate account with Preferences->Account->Duplicate because your account will not be properly re-configured. NOTE: When moving from 5.0.1.1, 5.0.1.2, 5.0.1.3 to 5.0.1.4, creating a new account is not necessary. NOTE: If you are using a Tungsten C, you may find better WiFi connectivity if you apply the Tungsten C Update 2.0 from the palmOne Support Site. __________________________________________________________________________ 5.0 Product limitations Palm OS ------- -- The Mobility Client for Palm OS does not enable you to set the default route. -- If you have a device running Palm OS 3.5.x, start and stop the network on your device from the Mobility Client instead of from the Preferences-> Network panel. The device might fail with a Fatal Exception if the network is started or stopped from the Preferences->Network panel. This limitation does not occur on Palm OS 4.x. -- If you are running this software on a Treo 300 that ships with the Blazer Web Browser, you will not be able to load internal Web sites because the browser relies on a proxy that is incompatible with the Mobility Client for Palm OS. -- If you are running this software on a Treo 600 from Sprint (CDMA) that ships with the Blazer Web Browser, you will not be able to load internal Web sites without specifying an intranet proxy in the browser Options->Preferences-> Advanced->Set Proxy panel. This is because the browser relies on a proxy that is incompatible with the Mobility Client for Palm OS. -- This release of the Mobility Client for Palm OS does not support moving the modules into an SD card. The modules must remain on the handheld. -- If you are running this software on a Kyocera 7135, ensure that the phone is on before tapping the Connect button in the Mobility Client for Palm OS. If you tap Connect while the phone is off, you will not be able to respond to the dialog asking if you want to turn the phone on and you must soft reset. -- If you run the LFTP application and try to transfer a large file over a slow network through the private network interface, the transfer may time out before the file is completely transferred. -- The Mobility Client for Palm OS does not allow you to perform a Hotsync via the network when the Mobility Client for Palm is active on Tungsten C. Doing a Hotsync via the network when the Mobility Client for Palm OS is active may result in a Fatal Exception. -- The Mobility Client for Palm OS does not restore its network interface when the network is stopped and started from the Preferences->Network panel on Tungsten C. To recover, you will need to disconnect and re-connect to the Connection Manager from the Mobility Client. -- If large amounts of data are transferred over the Mobility Client connection and logging is enabled, you may experience a device reset or Fatal Exception. -- If large amounts of data are uploaded over the Mobility Client connection on a Treo 300 device using applications such as LFTP or DMS, you may experience a soft reset. _________________________________________________________________________ 6.0 Fixed Authorized Problem Analysis Reports (APARs) 6.1 APARs fixed in version 5.0.1.4: IY60553 Palm Mobility Client hangs if RADIUS authentication fails _________________________________________________________________________ 7.0 Trademarks and Copyright Everyplace, IBM, and WebSphere are trademarks or registered trademarks of the IBM Corporation in the United States, or other countries, or both.
