STORING A NUMBER IN MEMORY

Each extension has its own auto-dial memory. In each memory, you can
store up to 20 phone numbers of up to 16 digits each (pulse mode) or 15
digits each (tone mode). You give each of these telephone numbers a two
digit code (01-20) for memory dialing.

Enter the telephone numbers into memory as follows:

1. With the handset hung-up, set MEM STORE/NORMAL to MEM STORE.

2. If the BATT TEST indicator does not light, check the batteries
    and change them, if necessary.

CAUTION: You lose all phone numbers previously stored if you attempt to
store a number while the BATT TEST indicator is off. Do not
attempt to store a telephone number with no battery or weak
          batteries.

3. Set TONE/PULSE for the correct dialing mode.

4. Enter the desired telephone number to be stored.

5. Press MEMORY.

6. Enter the number of the memory location (01-20) in which to store
    the phone number.

NOTE: When you assign a code number, you automatically erase the
telephone number previously stored in that position. You cannot
erase a number from memory without storing a new number in its
       place.

7. To continue storing numbers in the memory (up to 20), repeat steps
    3-5 for each number.

8. Return MEM STORE/NORMAL to NORMAL.

NOTES: If you want to correct or change the number you are
storing, set MEM STORE/NORMAL to NORMAL and then return
it to MEM STORE. Then start over.

You can answer an incoming call while you are storing a number simply by
lifting the handset. However, the telephone number you are entering is
not stored. Follow the procedure to store the number again.

WHEN PROGRAMMING EMERGENCY NUMBERS AND/OR MAKING TEST CALLS TO
EMERGENCY NUMBERS:

Remain on the line and briefly explain to the dispatch the reason for the
call before hanging up.

Perform such activities on off-peak hours such as early morning or late
evening.

USING THE LOCATION NUMBER LABEL

As you store a telephone number in memory, make a note (person's or
company's name) next to the code number, to remind you of the number
stored in that position. Use a pencil in case you want to change the
stored numbers.

MEMORY DIALING A NUMBER

1. Lift the handset.

2. Press LINE 1 or LINE 2.

3. Press MEMORY.

4. Enter the code number for the telephone number you want to dial (01
    -20).

CHAIN DIALING

When using special tone services, such as alternate long-distance or bank
by-phone, you must dial the telephone number of the service and wait for
the service to answer before you continue. The length of time before the
service answers can vary, so using a pre-programmed pause after a service
number is not advised.

However, if you store the special service number in one memory location
and additional information in other locations, you can chain dial numbers
as follows:

1. Memory dial the local special service number.

2. Wait for the service to answer.

3. Memory dial the additional information.

NOTE: To prevent unauthorized access, we recommend that you not store
any personal identification code in the auto-dial memory. Do not
write the code on the location number label.

NOTE: If you are using pulse dialing, remember that you need to set
TONE/PULSE to TONE when storing numbers that you want to
memory-dial after you reach the special service.
