CTR-89 (140-1104) Features Faxback Doc. # 6214

The Radio Shack CTR-89 Voice-Actuated Compact Cassette Recorder offers
convenience and reliability for recording live audio. The recorder's
special voice-operated switch (VOX) circuit automatically starts recording
when a sound, such as speech, occurs. The recorder stops recording soon
after the sound stops. This makes the recorder perfect for meetings,
lectures and seminars.

Because the CTR-89 does not record long silent periods, you not only save
tape and battery power-you also save time when you try to find a certain
section on the tape. Your recorder is small enough to fit in a briefcase
or purse, so you can take it almost anywhere.

The cassette recorder also includes these special features:

Built-In Condenser Microphone - helps provide quality recordings.

Digital Tape Counter - helps you quickly return to a
                                        specific section on the tape.

Automatic Level Control (ALC) Circuit - automatically adjusts for the
                                        proper recording level.

Auto Stop - during play or record, stops the
                                        recorder and releases the tape
                                        mechanism when the tape reaches
the end. This saves battery power
                                        and protects your cassette tape.

Three-Way Power - lets you operate your cassette
                                        recorder using internal batteries,
an AC outlet (using an optional
                                        adapter), or your vehicle's
                                        cigarette-lighter socket (using an
                                        optional adapter).

Earphone - lets you listen without disturbing
others. You can also use the
                                        earphone to monitor a recording
                                        and check the microphone's
                                        sensitivity.
